Negligence Of Culture Is Negligence Of Tradition

Culture could be defined as the totality of a people’s way of life which includes food, arts, craft language, dressings, songs, dances, masquerades, and music as well as traditional sports and games.
By this definition, it is discernible that every country is endowed with a rich cultural heritage. This holds the fabric if the society together, gives the people a patterned way of socialization, helps them to predict the behavior of others and permits others to know what to expect from them. This, of course, explains why people from different ethnic group exhibit a marked behavioral trait different from counterpart from other parts of the world.

Over the years, culture has created tremendous impact and has been recognized and cherished by people of other cultural background. Also, the fattening institution after child birth by some ethical communities uses to exert far reaching influence in the society. It put moral restraints on girls and helped them to maintain their charity till marriage as sexual relationship before fattening was a taboo.
It was a period during which moral and other social lessons were given as it prepared the fattened for motherhood, mid-wifery and home management.

Also traditional dances, music, games and sports offered the society very interesting sources of entertainment and joy as spectators gathered around the player and dancers admiring them. This made for social interaction and good mental health.

Indeed, culture, customs and beliefs regulated the conduct and morals of a community. They provided the pattern and standard of behavior of the people; unified them as helped them to live together in peace and harmony. Communities are adjoined to roll out the drum to celebrate Art and Cultural Festival.
